N'shape with'N Workshop

At the N'shape with'N Workshop you will:

APPLICATION PROCESS

8 Steps to Becoming a Certified N’shape with’N Instructor

  1. Review Information: Your first step to becoming a certified N’shape with’N instructor is to review the information below.
  2. Complete Instructor: Application Next complete the Instructor Application and submit it to the district office 8-10 weeks prior to the workshop.
  3. Receive CPR certification: After passing the movement screening, you will need to submit proof of CPR certification (or intent to become CPR certified prior to the workshop date) to the district manager.
  4. Schedule a Workshop: After submitting CPR certification (or intent to become CPR certified prior to the workshop date) to the district manager, you will be scheduled to attend a workshop.
  5. Review Agreement: You will receive an Agreement from N’shape with’N approximately 6 weeks prior to your scheduled workshop date. After reading and carefully reviewing the Agreement, submit your signed original to N’shape with’N, 610 E 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202, Attn: Instructor Services.
  6. Study Training Materials: After submitting your completed Agreement and approximately 2-4 weeks prior to the workshop date, you will be mailed training materials, including training and choreography videos, choreography notes and music, and a fitness resource book.
  7. Prepare for and Attend the Workshop: You must review the materials, prepare for the workshop, and learn several N’shape with’N routines, some of which you will present during a practical exam.
  8. Receive Certification: Upon passing the practical exam and completing the entire workshop, you become a certified N’shape with’N instructor.

How much does it cost to become certified?

Regular Full Status

  • Initial certification fee $200 in the US
  • A yearly liability insurance premium available through NshapewithN. Approximate cost $120 to $170.
  • New routines + music CD w/instruction. Approximate cost $45.00 quarterly.
  • Equipment, including:
    • A sound system (i.e., an audio CD player with microphone attachment for use in a public facility that doesn’t provide)
    • A DVD player to view and learn new routines
    • A computer system: a PC, printer, access to email and the Internet
    • A telephone answering machine/system.

Substitute Status

  • Initial certification fee $200 in the US

What is a substitute status instructor?

There are two types of substitutes:

  1. Floating Subs They work on an “as needed” basis for many different instructors and do not own classes
  2. Assistant Subs The associate does not own classes, but works on a regular basis for a class owner.

Where will I teach?

NshapewithN instructors teach in many different public and private facilities such as gyms, fitness clubs, recreation centers, churches, etc. Some instructors own classes at commercial sites and operate an NshapewithN Fitness Center.

What programs may I teach?

Certified NshapewithN instructors are certified to teach all NshapewithN formats.

What do my certification fees cover?

  • A two part training program: a self-paced study program followed by a workshop consisting of physiology and anatomy, auditions and the business basics of becoming a good NshapewithN instructor.
  • The marketing skills necessary to promote yourself and your classes.
  • Continuous communication of updated information via our instructor newsletter, mailings and nshapewithn.com
  • Bookkeeping materials.
  • A toll free 866-line and Web site, nshapewithn.com offering class location information.

How do I get trained?

Once you are accepted into the training program and have a Certification Agreement on file, you receive a pre-workshop training packet two to four weeks prior to attending the N’shape with’N workshop. The packet consists of written material on health and fitness, a study guide, an instructional video, choreography notes and music for routines. It is a self-study program designed to prepare you for the written and practical workshop exams.

How do I get a class?

NshapewithN places instructors in facilities based upon instructor status, location and personality fit.

How do I get new routines?

New routines and choreography designed by Nettie Reeves are mailed out quarterly. Certified instructors learn the new routines and introduce them during N’shape with’N’s launch week. All routines are choreographed with safety and effectiveness in mind.
