About Funky Fit.

Funky Fit was created by Nettie Reeves in 1999. At a time that most Black women felt that their hair was more important than their health, Nettie was determined to prove to as many as possible that once they experience Funky Fit, their love of fitness would be everlasting. Today Funky Fit is striving and thriving with well over 400 routines choreographed to date, and counting. So you never worry about boredom in our classes or whether or not you can hang. Our routines are easy to learn and fun to do. FunkMasters are trained to demonstrate modifications and you are encouraged to work at your own level so everyone is challenged, but safe. We are unapologetically FUNKY; for one hour we jam, yell, laugh and sweat, feeling new over and again!

Funky Fit Descriptions.

Funky Fit Straight Up & Down

The original Funky Fit dance-based aerobics that pumps the heart and the soul from beginning to end. Includes aerobic routines and ends with abdominal work. All levels.

Funky Fit Sculpting

Funky Fit toning routines that work to sculpt each muscle of the body. No aerobics. All levels.

Funky Fit Throwback

All old-school Funky Fit routines done to a Straight Up and Down format. All levels.

Funky Fit Yoga

Funky Fit Straight Up & Down for 30 minutes; Yoga for 30 minutes. All levels.

Funky Fit Circuit

Combo of aerobic and toning routines using hand held weights. All levels.

No, not the new fangled way (well a little hip-hop never hurt anyone). But the old school, funky way! Yes, that kind. If that’s you, then consider becoming a Funky Fit Funkmaster. These are masters at motivating and moving the Funkateers. What does it take? Personality, a love for helping others (and yourself) and the ability to lead. Funkmasters have the responsibility of learning Nettie Reeves choreographed routines and presenting them to Funkateers in a fun and energetic manner.
